Why is New Jersey Taxes and Real Estate so damn Expensive?

If the people in New Jersey didn't want higher taxes they shouldn't have continued to re-elect those politicians who pushed them into law. And they just keep doing it over and over. I recently read that New Jersey has the highest "flight" record of the country. In other words it has the highest record of people leaving because of the taxes. We live in Delaware. Our new community is comprised of mostly people from NJ as I would ume most are.
