I'm helping some friends with their very slow computers, i managed to figure out the cause, the file mup.sys?

I have read the forums explaining the lengthy registry repair procedure and was just wondering if there is a quick fix available instead. The full file name is mup.sys, it hangs while booting in safe mode, when booting normally the computer runs very very slowly. I ume this is a result of the file looping and draining resources
