Getting him to notice me. ?

There's this guy I've known for a long time. He's my BFF's neighbor & he's cute. :) we never really talked until he sent me a friend request online. Then he just started sending me that messages and IMs and we started talking. We go to the same school. We don't talk in person a lot exept for once I went down to the clroom he was in because I left something in there and he gave me a high-five. Plus, once in elementary school his friends were being mean to me and locking me in a bathroom and he unlocked the door and told his friends to leave me alone :) Please help!! :)
