Can any1 help me with my astra 1998 sport ?? problem with the traction control ??

ok here go the traction control does not illuminate by the clocks on the dash nothing happens if i press tc either the when i go up in gears as i change gears my penger front wheel screeches like a wheel spin does any1 have a clue why ???
