Are BMW M3s driven by s?

I bought a white BMW M3 09 plate and some of the guys are work say it is a car for s? It was between this and an Audi RS4 and I prefer the BMW? I get flashed sometimes when overtaking or driving fast (but not dangerously) - is this people showing there is disapproval of my car choice?
